COVID-19 Precautions

Please review the COVID-19 Precautions. These are the current policies. As the State of California is rapidly changing, the expectation is these policies may also change in the near future. We will be following the guidelines in place on the date of our event.

If you exhibit any symptoms consistent with COVID-19 before the event, you should not attend to avoid placing others in danger.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• • Directors assume no liability for lost/stolen articles nor for any type of injury at or incidental to contest.
  • NO REFUNDS!
  • ENTRY DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, MAY 5, 2021. Entries must be filled out on the SCBBA website and paid through Venmo, Zelle, or by check. Entry will be taken down at midnight on May, 5th, 2021
  • Family Plan: Pay 100% of most expensive entry: 50% of entries for each additional athlete.
  • IN CASE OF FORCED CANCELLATION: If the state of CA or Xavier HS forces us to cancel, we will refund all entry fees with the exception of shirts and towels. If notice of cancellation is after the shirt and towel order has been placed; then they are non-refundable, and we will send them to coaches for distribution.

EVENT INFORMATION

• California, Arizona, Nevada Pageants and State events are open to their own residents respectively. Twirl status determines pageant level.
• BASIC SKILLS COMPETITION: Open to Novice contestants only. Contest is 20% Modeling, 40% Basic Strut and 40% Twirl. You may enter both Basic Skills and Beginner Pageant.
• Open Competition: Open to all states. Events will be held prior to State events when possible and will be posted throughout the day.
• DOUBLE ENTERING IS ALLOWED IN OPEN EVENTS.
• Pageant Modeling: Attire is per NBTA rules. Modeling is in “Circle T” pattern with an interview. (No interview for Basic Skills.) Modeling will start with the letter “Y”. Strut and Twirl will be moved down by 1/3 of the division.
• MUSIC: Athletes performing to individual music (Rhythmic)

AWARDS

• PAGEANT: 1st-3rd place trophies, 4th & 5th medals. Medals through 3rd place in each pageant event.
• STATE: 1st-8th awards for Advanced Twirl. 1st-5th awards for Intermediate, Beginner and Novice Twirl, all levels of X-Strut, 2 & 3 Baton and Pairs.
• OPEN EVENTS: 1st place trophy, 2nd-5th medals.
• Per NBTA rules, medals only for Novice events.
